VISIT THE GAS MUSEUM – PLINARNIŠKI MUZEJ!

The entrance in the museum is lightened by four gas streetlamps, two self-standing and two suspended, which are the replicas of the old gas lamps, reproduced on the basis of old Ljubljana postcards.
Inside the museum, there are 17 panels showing the history of gas industry:
- the photos of the Ljubljana gas factory from 1861;
- gas network plans in the period from 1931 to 2003;
- the plans of the operation of the old gas factory;
- the photos of the production of city gas and the presentation of hard work in the gas factory;
- the photos of various gas lamps and gas chandeliers;
- the use of gas for cooking, washing, drying, ironing, heating, etc.
- the concession agreement from 1860;
- the share of the Ljubljana gas factory from 1863;
- various pyrometers and explosion meters, gas searchers, calorimeters, etc.;
- and many other interesting items on display.
It is possible to visit Plinarniški muzej every working day, subject to previous arrangement.
